Final Decision.

Since i am unable to cope with posting photos on more than one site, i have made the final decision to continue my photographic journey over on blipfoto.

This tumblr account will, therefore, not be updated.

New journal will be here:-

p.s. Still trying to find my way around blipfoto :o

31st December 2012

Farewell.

So, this is it…

The final posting of the 366 photo challenge.

And what a year it has been.

Firstly, I’ve completed the challenge and posted a daily photo (taken on that day) every day except one when I fell asleep on the bloody sodding sofa.

I’ve posted on days that I really couldn’t be arsed and days when I’ve had to choose from a selection of potentially suitable images.

I’ve pushed myself. I’ve looked at the world around me. I’ve noticed the little details in everyday objects. I’ve recorded some boring days and some momentous days.

I’ve learnt from others who have also done this challenge. I’ve admired their work. I’ve loved reading about their everyday lives. I’ve actually lived their lives through their photos and their words.

I’ve also learnt that it doesn’t matter what other people think about my photos. They are mine. They are an extension of my soul. And therefore they can’t be deemed ‘good’ or ‘bad’.

I’ve also acquired a new camera from a fellow participant in the challenge. Which is something I’ve wanted to do for years.

I’ve learnt that it’s possible to take some really rather okay photos with a basic iPhone. And I’ve learnt how to look at texture and colour and angles.

But most of all I have learnt how to express myself.

And I now have a record of a rollercoaster of a year.

So, today’s photo is of a Bulgarian lorry cab parked up in the car park with a parking ticket. Coz after a rather bizarre drop-in session this morning, it made me chuckle…

And when I came home from work, I found my hubby (still in his jimjams) copying and pasting all my daily photos and words into a word document so he could keep a permanent record of my year.

Which I think was just about the nicest thing he could possibly do for me at the end of the challenge. He has supported & encouraged me throughout the year, even on the occasions when I’ve screamed at him to stop the car so that I can take a photo.

So, farewell to 2012. And farewell to the 366 challenge.

But I AM going to carry on. Not every day. Just on the days when something really grabs my eye.

I’m not sure yet whether I’m going to continue with tumblr or whether to migrate to blipfoto.

If I move to blipfoto then I will be found at
http://www.blipfoto.com/ForkedPaths

So long, farewell and thanks for all the fish…

Looking in.

Outside, looking in to the kitchen. Hubby cooking big roast chicken dinner.

The whole world looks a better place when you’ve eaten a roast chicken and you’ve got a full belly :)

Last day of the #mypictoday photo challenge tomorrow…

Tradition.

Miserable rainy day spent ironing whilst watching the film featured in the photo…

It’s tradition and it’s my heritage and I haven’t watched it in ages :)

I have also been contemplating whether or not to continue the photo diary on tumblr or whether to migrate over to blipfoto.

Having looked at the quality of photos in blipfoto I’m not sure that my daily iPhone photos are good enough to feature on the site :(

Too many different sites now - my ADHD can’t cope with them all.

tumblr, blipfoto or Flickr.

Need to choose just one and stick with it…

Glow.

There was a very weird pink glow in the sky just before dusk today.

Unedited photo taken in a rush, so not the best quality :(

I’ve just realised that there are only THREE photos left of this project

*sobs uncontrollably*

What’s gonna happen in 4 days time???? :(

Blockage.

Whilst v briefly in the office today, I decided to tackle the rather annoying blockage in the sink.

With the drain cleaner that was surrendered to me earlier in the year by a guest, thereby preventing him from committing suicide by drinking it.

Which has enabled me to find a very suitable purpose for something that was ‘removed from a retail premise’ for a very unsuitable purpose.

That’s kinda karma really…

Theme.

There appears to be a theme running through my presents this year…

I have a onesie, a microwaveable lavender filled polar bear and a mini hand hot water bottle.

Would that be because I tend to feel the cold??

So, I have spent a very quiet day with the hubby, dressed in my onesie…

Which, although being a fashion faux pas, is actually blooming comfortable.

Hubby is currently cooking me fillet steak for dinner. And he’s bought me new lenses for my baby camera.
So I’ll keep him for another year ;-)

And, I’ve just seen the biggest & brightest shooting star… No really. And I was stone cold sober tooooo :)

Naughty.

I’m feeling very naughty.

Mojito at 4pm on a WEEKDAY :)

Managed to survive the drop-in session this morning with 16 volunteers in the building - lovely peeps for coming out on Christmas Eve so that we could open for those who will be having a difficult time over the festive period.

Just about to say to goodbye to my boys who are off to their Dad’s for the next couple of days.

Which is sad. Coz this is the first Christmas without them :(

Choices.

Today’s photo wasn’t going to be today’s photo. I had a better one…

But this little scene sums up my Sunday.

Which was all about choices.

And what do most people on the day before Christmas Eve? They visit every DIY store in town in an attempt to choose bathroom flooring. Of course they do :o

And then they return to the first store, 1 1/2 hours later, decide on the sodding flooring, and then attempt to choose a new front door mat…

Because it’s REALLY important, on the day before Christmas Eve, to choose the RIGHT door mat.
