31st December 2012
Farewell.
So, this is it…
The final posting of the 366 photo challenge.
And what a year it has been.
Firstly, I’ve completed the challenge and posted a daily photo (taken on that day) every day except one when I fell asleep on the bloody sodding sofa.
I’ve posted on days that I really couldn’t be arsed and days when I’ve had to choose from a selection of potentially suitable images.
I’ve pushed myself. I’ve looked at the world around me. I’ve noticed the little details in everyday objects. I’ve recorded some boring days and some momentous days.
I’ve learnt from others who have also done this challenge. I’ve admired their work. I’ve loved reading about their everyday lives. I’ve actually lived their lives through their photos and their words.
I’ve also learnt that it doesn’t matter what other people think about my photos. They are mine. They are an extension of my soul. And therefore they can’t be deemed ‘good’ or ‘bad’.
I’ve also acquired a new camera from a fellow participant in the challenge. Which is something I’ve wanted to do for years.
I’ve learnt that it’s possible to take some really rather okay photos with a basic iPhone. And I’ve learnt how to look at texture and colour and angles.
But most of all I have learnt how to express myself.
And I now have a record of a rollercoaster of a year.
So, today’s photo is of a Bulgarian lorry cab parked up in the car park with a parking ticket. Coz after a rather bizarre drop-in session this morning, it made me chuckle…
And when I came home from work, I found my hubby (still in his jimjams) copying and pasting all my daily photos and words into a word document so he could keep a permanent record of my year.
Which I think was just about the nicest thing he could possibly do for me at the end of the challenge. He has supported & encouraged me throughout the year, even on the occasions when I’ve screamed at him to stop the car so that I can take a photo.
So, farewell to 2012. And farewell to the 366 challenge.
But I AM going to carry on. Not every day. Just on the days when something really grabs my eye.
I’m not sure yet whether I’m going to continue with tumblr or whether to migrate to blipfoto.
If I move to blipfoto then I will be found at

So long, farewell and thanks for all the fish…
